Couple Arrested For Starving Boy To Punish Him

An Indiana couple were arrested after reportedly starving a 5-year-old boy as punishment.

AshLeigh Peach and Jonathan Parsley were arrested and charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury. Police in Tipton, Indiana, got word of the situation after receiving anonymous calls about suspected child abuse on June 5. The following day, authorities took custody of the child.

When police searched the home where the couple lived with the boy and six other children, they found surveillance equipment that was used to make sure the child didn’t take food from the kitchen.

Authorities also learned that the seven children shared two bedrooms, with one equipped with a door alarm and the other with a padlock.

“It was deemed that the door alarm was used to keep the victim child confined to the bedroom for extended periods of time as punishment,” authorities told WXIN.

The other six children living in the home were also taken into custody by the Department of Child Services after the arrests.

“Will never understand child abuse — or any other kind of abuse — especially by one’s parents,” one Mad World News reader commented on the site’s Facebook page. “Who raised these two adults? Why would they abuse a child? Is it because they did not want to be bothered? Are they so selfish that they are the center of the world and nothing else matters? God, I pray that you grant healing and embrace these children with your love.”

“It is so sad that parents would do this to their own child!!!” another wrote. “Obviously they are not normal, probably deranged, druggies, and no mental capacity! they first need consequences, then whatever else! I pray this child survives and finds a good and loving home!”

“I wouldn’t insult the parents of this world by calling these two parents,” another reader commented. “That they are not. They are vile people, who unfortunately we’re allowed to breed the children they tortured. Hopefully, all the children will find someone to love them and let them be children. Heavenly Father please look after these special children.”
