British Vogue has been slammed for featuring Australian actresses Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie on its February cover.
The fashion bible highlights the two woman as part of its ‘Hollywood’s New Era’ issue. The cover also features the subheading, ‘Why We Need to Talk About Race’.
In light of this juxtaposition, readers took to Instagram to criticise the magazine for being ‘too white’ and not including a diverse range of ethnicities.

One person wrote on Instagram: ‘I think they missed this one. They shouldn’t have put we need to talk about race article with this cover.
‘Would have been great if it was five girls all different races or something, not two blonde white women.’
Another added: ‘Did you really put two of the whitest people you could find on the cover with “Why We Need to Talk About Race”…?’
One unimpressed social media user wrote: ‘Oh wow! We need to talk about race but wait let (us) give you our whitest cover.’
Another remarked: ‘White women and chiffon. Groundbreaking.’
Daily Mail Australia has contacted British Vogue’s publisher Conde Nast for comment.
Inside the ‘Hollywood’s New Era’ article, British Vogue featured Nicole and Margot alongside Emma Stone, Gal Gadot, and Saoirse Ronan.
Downsizing star Hong Chau was the only non-white actress to be included.
Margot told the magazine her family had questioned why she was pursuing acting at the beginning of her career.
‘My family has no connection to the entertainment industry whatsoever, so when I started acting, everyone was like, “That’s fun, but when are you going to actually get a real job?”‘ she said.
‘And that went on for years. They’re impressed for five seconds, and then there, “So anyway, the dog threw up today.”‘
